Sustainable Architecture / Eco design
The need for sustainable architecture is ever increasing.
We at Pasko Design are deeply interested in designing ecological and sustainable buildings for the Australian context. Our ecological concerns extend beyond reducing energy use to social sustainability. This involves designing buildings that last by using environmentally friendly materials that withstand the harsh Australian environment, and also designing buildings that can be adapted for reuse, thus ensuring longevity.
Sustainable design starts with the building orientation, material selection, shading, heating, cooling and water-use systems. Our focus on social and environmental sustainability is expressed in our aim to create buildings that have a harmonious relationship with their natural environment, rather than dominating it. We have a particularly sensitivity to the unique qualities of the Australian sunlight and landscape and where possible we encourage the use of local materials.
